Pork Loin with a Oriental sauce.

As you know I love Pork hence the name of the blog and here's a lovely little sauce to go with any cut of piggy ! I used pork Loin which was delightful.

Oriental Sauce.
Sweat 2 shallots off in a little oil. Add 2 cloves of Garlic and lightly colour. Add 2 Star Anise stars and stir.
Put your cowboy hat on and make up in a separate pan a litre of some instant beef gravy and pour into the the shallot/star anise/garlic mix and let infuse for 25 minutes.
Pass the mix through a sieve collecting the gravy into another pan and put back onto the heat. Then add to the pan a good slow pouring gooey honey. Stir and then reduce until thick and syrupy.
This sauce is truly lovely. Its sweet and savoury flavour with the aromatic star anise giving it another edge.
I serve it on a bed of sauteed thinly sliced pear with wilted Pak Choi.
The Pork Loin is started off in a 220 degree c hot oven for 20 minutes then turned down to 180 degrees c until cooked.
Enjoy !
