A little part of Heaven !

On the B6343 out of Morpeth,Northumberland on the twisting and turning yellow brick road for about 8 miles you will find a truly lovely wizard of a place called Meldon Park and in there lies a garden of lovely flowers but at the right time of the year you will find some out of this world fruit and vegetables.
Emily is the sorceress and Marlene the head gardener and between them they grow some amazing produce.
I was there at easter just as the Rhubarb was coming through and brought some for an easter sunday meal I made for family.
I turned the Rhubarb into a beautiful crumble and made a rhubarb compote by adding some Holy Island Mead into the compote and serving it with a Vanilla Pannacotta. By the time I had got me camera out the family had scoffed the lot !
The Kitchen Garden at Meldon Park is open for Fruit and Vegetables now and is totally seasonal so they will taste their best when you buy them and the only carbon footprint is your own.
Pay them a visit soon but don't tell Emily your a friend of mine or she will charge you double ! Ha Ha !
