Rachel is a lovely girl and a great Chef. After a Culinary accident in the kitchen at work this is what happened to her Chopping board.
But she dropped a large slab of Topside into a full pan ( Known as Black Bertha) of spitting oil and it not only destroyed a Chopping board but burnt her terribly. These pictures were taken a week after the event. It actually upset me as Rachael is a lovely person and why her why could it not have been the already deformed Wayne who works that kitchen section to, he can take it ! Kitchens are dangerous and please as a customer remember that Chef's can get horrible injuries. Rachel will heal she is the the life and soul of the tree house kitchen and it is her humour, enthusiasm that can help get you through a nasty service !

Bad Kitchen Wear !!
OK if you win a competition great put it on your uniform but if you lose don't ! This suggests to me that the Chef in question was beaten by a Pack of the 131st Airbourne unit of the Newbiggin Girl Guides and their Chocolate cupcake recipe and someone from Master chef !!!!
Obviously only put your name on your Chef whites if you are Jamie Oliver or Gary Rhodes or maybe Gordon Ramsey...or Pope...
Now look at me. My Chef wear tells you all you need to know about the food experience you are about to have...Action man of the kitchen !
Dear Auntie Sue !
I like the idea of Pea soup but every time I have made it my blender has exploded all over the kitchen. This is why I have made it only twice in 8 years and as I do not have a swampie to clear up after me at Meldon it might be sometime before I make it again but it's a shame as the Ginger and Coriander really worked well.
Nothing better to do !
Many, many years ago when I first started out in my working life I had a job as a trainee Wedding photographer in Morpeth at A.B.Stait photography.
It was a father and son business and working with Ken (Alfie's son who was being groomed to take over the business) was always great fun. We used to play shop football when we were on our own in the shop hoping no customers were unlucky enough to get a face full of sponge football if they came in at the wrong time ! (only happened once I think !)
The best day of the week was Thursday as the shop closed early and me and Ken at one minute past one would leg it with great speed up to the world of adventure that 'The Black and Grey' inn was. It was there after several fizzy drinks I would stagger home and on one occasion clutching an inflatable sheep....but maybe thats a story for another time kids ! ha ha !
Any how as I said before one of my current jobs is working at Meldon Park with the T.V reality celebrity Emily who runs the Cafe and I didn't know it but she is friends with Ken and she must have got some awful pictures of me from him as when I arrived at work last week she had plastered the kitchen with these dreadful images ! It kind of made me feel very old for a while as they must have been taken about 25 years ago ! where has the time gone ? I did particularly like my 'Cow lick' hairstyle though !
As Ferris Bueller once said " Life moves pretty fast if you don't stop once in a while you might miss something good ! " Apart from romance sailing past me I have had an amazing life...so far with a lot more hopefully coming my way !
O and Emily....beware ! ha ha revenge is coming !
Easter Bunny.
Just as Xmas is shit for proper Chefs so is Easter. Good Friday, Saturday, Easter Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday are days to be worked ! Unless you work in a Staff Restaurant where you spend most of your 4 day (!!!) week joining in the Easter spirit and moan at Chef's like me who dip into your working life with no Easter Bunny spirit...but June has made a lovely counter at her staff restaurant ! Enjoy your Easter weekend off !
Martin and the Fox.
I like to support local talent so please book Martin the Magnificent and Freddy the Fox it is the best double act I have seen all week. That Fox has talent of Ant and Dec proportions !
Matching Socks !
Smudges of the Week !
...taken by me...fo...
Have a great week and...Enjoy !
